Has anyone taken viibryd?? If so what were the side effects?? && when did they subside???

You just started on this recenty right? As is typical with A/D Rx's, this med can take several weeks to fully level out and start to become theraputic...I know that seems like an eternity if you are having uncomfortable s/e's:(

shocked   shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked   shocked   shocked   shocked   shocked shocked shocked shocked   shocked   shocked shocked shocked shocked   shocked   shocked shocked   shocked   shocked shocked   shocked   shocked shocked shocked   shocked   shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked   shocked   shocked one week.. i got great results immediatly.. i felt so good the first and second day,on the third i began having horrible insomnia!!! i could not sleep untill yesterday night!!! i literally slept like 2 hours a night... now even though my anxiety and depression has decreased alot, the side effects are whats keeping me from feeling my best. head/body zaps, headaches, contant nausea & upset stomach, total lack of appetite, dry eyes, and INSOMNIA!! i have an appointment with my phyc. for this thursday!!! realy thinking about getting off asap!!!!! i was on lexapro & buspar for 3 years with very very little side effects, even though it didnt help me as much as viibryd is , im realy thinking about going back.. i REFUSE to try NY OTGER MEDS ALSO, I DO NOT LIKE THE EFFECTS IT PUTS ON YOUR BODY AS WEEL AS YOUR BRAIN.. im having a counselor come every saturday ( cog. behav. therapy) sooo hopefully it helps as well!!

I am so sorry, that does sound awful.:( Try to hang in there until Thursday however, and see what your P-doc has to say...maybe there is something that he/she can help you with for the insomnia and nausea.

I am really glad to hear that you are starting CBT! It helped me more than I can tell you.

I know that you will benefit as well. It does take time, and is a bit of work...but completely worth it!

I hope that you have a calm day today, and that the s/e's leave you alone. Keep us posted.

S.C. ,my anxiety level is great, but the fact that the medicine is making me feel very sick gives me anxiety... (my anxiety level always increases when im sick) this med is making me so nauseas my gaging reflex is acting up :( yea i guess im willing to stick it out for 2 more days tho . . . CAN AN ANTI ANXIRTY/DEPRESSION MED CAUSE DEATH FOR ANY REASON BESIDES SUICIDE????? IM AFRAID ITS MESSING WITH MY BODY &&& IM GOING TO DROP DEAD!!!!!!
P.S., I cant WAIT FOR CBT THIS SAT!!!!!!!

I have heard of some 'killer' side effects...but no, to my knowledge, barring some rare reaction, A/D medications do not cause people to die.

Some mood altering medications/anti-psychotics have to be monitored to make sure that they are not buiding to dangerous levels and causing toxicity in the body, but not an SSRI like you are taking.

What you are most likely experiencing is just an extreme case of s/e's that you can discuss with your doctor on Thursday. He/she may ask if you can stick it out, or perhaps if they agree that it is extreme...some adjustment may be made.

I hope that it all works out and that you are feeling better A.S.A.P.!!

S.C. , THANKS!! I FEEL SO BETTER KNOWING THEY CAN JUST "KILL YOU". . . IM AFRAIDDDDD OF SERATONIN SYNDROME!!!!!!!!! I KNOW THS SOUNDS CRAZY, BUT I FEEL WIERD WITHOUT MY "USUAL" ANXIETY & WORRY. . . ALMOST BORED & EMPTY... ITS EVEN GIVING ME ANXIETY NOT HAVING ANY ANXIETY/WORRY. . . I GUESS ITS BECAUSE I HAVENT FELT "NORMAL" IN SO LONG I FORGOT WHAT IT FELT LIKE & WHEN I THOUGHT I WAS FEELING "NORMAL" IT WAS JUST A "GOOD DAY" WITH MY ANXIETY!!! :?

I tried it very briefly but it gave me the same sexual side effects as all the other SSRIs so I discontinued it. It also gave me stomach upset which scared me because I have UC. I'm now on Remeron.
