Hey everyone,
I posted here a few weeks ago asking for help on stress and worry about not being able to breath after moving to a new country. Since then I've struggled through it with some good and some bad days and I finally went to see a doctor today on the hopes of getting a clean bill of health so I could combat anxiety without worrying as much about a real disease. Unfortunately she said my throat was still not back to normal (my anxiety started off with a nasty sinus infection and bad throat) and suggested that I might have allergies given that it is allergy season here. I now have 4 different drugs to take, with the big one being an anti-histamine for the allergies and then some nose/throat sprays.
However, because she didn't find everything okay, I'm feeling much worse than I was this morning even. I've looked up all the things associated with allergies, and then asthma, and now I'm once again worried that I'm going to go to sleep and not wake up because I stopped breathing. It's very stressful and my throat feels dry and tight right now. The doctor didn't ask me to come back for 2 weeks, so I've been trying to convince myself that it's not too serious, but the doctors here are not always very well trained, and I also had to work through a translator... so that adds a lot of stress. Any advice for how to cope with this? I'll start my course of medication tomorrow morning, so hopefully that helps a little...
