When it comes to anxiety disorder, emotional blunting is most well known as a side effect to antidepressants. But it can happen all on its own as well ! I am dealing with a serious medical dx and I feel like I am numb much of the time.
The key thing to remember is that emotional blunting is not permanent. With anxiety disorder, symptoms tend to come and go. So, although this one may bother you for some time, it will go away if you let it. The key thing here is to not let it get the best of you. Accept that it is there, but try not to react to it with fear.
You are not losing your mind, thow it may feel like that. I have had that feeling just today but interprupted the stinkin thinkin by using my medication as prescribed and taking a nap to quiet my mind.
I wish you peace,
Kitt
