is it ok to watch tv? I never watch the news but I do like comedies and cartoons. Reading foe dummies book says it wont help me relax but can everyone here watch tv just fine right?

I myself have been watching tv more lately because Ive been off all week,but I will never watch the news. To may sob stories on the news for my mind&I have to be safe about not watching to much Criminal Minds,I love that show and could get way to deep into the show.

hehe ... watching the news triggers everyone and I wonder why I freak out at work. (I'm a reporter....) lol

Anyway, I enjoy watching movies and certain shows. I try to be aware of what it is that I'm about to watch and that it isn't anything that will trigger me.

I definitely enjoy a good laugh-out-loud comedy movie - and it does help me calm down. Not sure if your experience will be the same. :)

Call me strange, but I'm constantly watching the news. I actually feel MORE anxious if I don't know what's going on in the world and my neighborhood. It's almost as if I need a head's up so there will be no surprises later.

I also watch talk shows like Dr. Phil or cartoons like SpongeBob with my daughter.

I can't watch movies at all because I'm worried I may "miss something " going on in the world during the two hours it takes to watch one...ugh.

My mom is that way too is always wants to know what has happened in the world. If I want to know the news only want medical discoveries, fashion, big events (you can't avoid them-bombings) To me in a population of billions of people something is going to happen there is no avoiding it.

I have my computer hooked to my TV dont need glasses now lol.

I love old black and white movies especially foreigh silent one's,
westerns,

also like Sham I watch all news chanells at 10-12Pm

I find TV to very relaxing given the right shows. I don't watch a lot of TV but I have my favorites..American pickers, house hunters....pawn stars....to name a few....I said PAWN stars Larry.........hehe

...only me? ;p

Seriously though...I am careful and guage my overall anxiety levels and watch media accordingly!  However, I think comedies are always a good source of decompression.:)

i am a box set FREAKKKK
Dexter, the vampire diaries, game of thrones, the borgias i am addicted to them all, i know its not good for you or your anxiety to spend long hours at the tv but when my anxiety was really high switching off with a box set was the only way i could relax!
