turn I am into my 2nd week at 75 mgs. after doing 15 days on 37.5. I still have a lot of anxiety when I wake up, am nauseous and dizzy today. Is there anyone out there who has experienced these same side effects and how long do they last. Everyday I look for some little sign that Effexor us working, but so far It hasn't shown my anything that is even near getting better. I get so down thinking that this may never work and then I will have to go on something else and go through the wonderful withdrawals of Effexor. I need some encouragement badly as I am getting so fed up. thanks for reading.

Hi WuN,

I am sorry that you are not getting any relief from your s/e's.:(

You are still on the short side of the window of feeling better however...it does take up to 10 weeks (or more) for some people to get to a theraputic level.

If you feel like your symptoms are more than you can bear however, a call to your doctor could be in order, to answer your questions and address your concerns.

Keep posting/keep us updated...and I am sending well wishes your way!!

Keep on going! Give it time to work!

Mine just got raised the other day, and I am medication sensitive so notice a change immediately. Hopefully, you will get some relief soon.

You are so lucky if you feel relief so fast. I am looking for anything to tell me that I am on my way to being better. Thanks for answering.

Hey Wayupnorth keep going on the effexor 75mg is the start of a therapeutic dose and you are only on the second week. I know it seems long but it's a short amount of time I was on 75 mg once a day for 5 or 6 years up until this past march and increased to 150 last Saturday so I'm waiting it out to see what happens ... Figured I'd give it a month.
Hang in there though!!! You'll be better!
