Hello!

Panic attacks for some reason make me dependent on people, I sometimes need to talk to someone, I need their support and understanding. However, people may leave you or make things worse by overlooking the problem and thinking you complain too much and be bored or annoyed when you talk to them about it.

So, who should we trust? Because depending on someone might make things worse if you lose them for some reason. Maybe it would be best if we didn't need anyone at all, then there is no fear of people leaving us and being tired of our problems.

What do you think? Have you ever lost someone you trusted and shared with about the panic disorder and how did you deal with it? A separation may turn your world upside down. I don't know if it is better to try to depend only on myself or to somehow try to find the right people to trust about the panic attacks?

Scarlett, I understand where you are coming from. I feel as if people that don't suffer with panic attacks don't really see how much they affect us, therefore they think we are being a bit over dramatic. My husband is one of those people. I love him to death but if it comes to me having a panic attack, he usually doesn't understand and just thinks I'm being crazy. That's why we all are on HW, we know what we all are going through, and we are here to support and talk to eachother about it. Sometimes people would rather be alone than talk to someone about their panic attacks, because they don't want them to judge them. But that's why I'm glad I found all of you guys. I realized I'm not insane, many of people go through this. I'm always here if you want to talk!

I think that everyone risks something when they trust another in any situation! That is the reality of being in a relationship.

In terms of our particular struggle however...we do hav the unique opportunity to come here and share with others who completely understand and care.:)

I have an awesome family and great friends....but I just feel much more comfortable being here with my anxiety issues.

I do share with loved ones about my struggles...but not on a deep level...I save that for you guys!;p

Post with us anytime...we are here for just this reason!

This feels like a very safe place for me. :)

Right now I know I will get through this. On Sept. 15th school starts which makes me a little nervous, but I hope I feel much better by then.

Once I feel completely in control again, I would like to help other people who have problems with anxiety. I am only scared that I might give bad advice and make things worse. If I am ever able to help you somehow, I would be really happy. :)

Anyway, you have probably went through a lot more than me. Although I've been having these panic attacks for less than a month, I can imagine how much it takes to deal with it and I really admire you all!

No need to worry about saying the wrong thing...just be here to support others with a kind word, and you can't miss!
