Anxiety / depression meds causing fever ?

I have been on effexor 75mg for 6 days now. I am also getting over a virus with no symptons other than fever,fatigue,headache and sore joints . Doctors called it a viral syndrome but ran no tests. I thought I felt better today till I checked my temp which was 99.9. I am thinking some of the side effects of the medicine and the virus are kinda like intertwining with each other now. I have had fever for 12 straight days. I had routine blood work done in June and he said i was very healthy. Just trying to figure out if its a bad virus or if effexor can possibly be boosting the fever. I didnt feel like I have fever until I take my temp. Any advice would be awesome!

As long as your doctor is aware that you have been having these symptoms, and thinks that it is viral...I wouldn't worry about it. It is pretty low grade...and could be from a combination of the virus, hot weather, hormones like SMU said...

Keep in close communication with your doctor, and if it doesn't get better in a couple more days, then you can further discuss things then, but I am guessing that it will go away. (also check your thermometer...it could be off.)
