Went to the doctors today. After two weeks on Zoloft he said to stop taking it. My anxiety was worse. I had horrible nightmares, my head was foggy all the time, and lost 7 lbs. due to loss of appetite! He gave me klonopin 0.5 mg. I want to feel better, but am so scared to take it. Don't want to feel like a zombie. Has anyone taken klonopin? If so, did it work for you? Please respond and let me know! I will really appreciate it!!! Thank you for listening!!!

Oh my Gosh I'm only on day 3 of Zoloft and I haven't had any appetite with horrible nausea and diarrhea. Talked to dr today and she said it will pass after about
a week bug not sure I can go a week like this. I've been in bed sick all day. I've alternated between going to the bathroom and crying all day.
In so over it

I'm sorry Shawdawn, I was like that for two weeks. I would force myself to eat something, but i couldnt even taste it. Doc said it works good for some, but others have the reaction I did! Talk to your doctor. I am not crazy about
starting the new med klonopin, but will give it a try. Took half a pill an hour ago and im not anxious. Dont know if its the pill or just having a good moment! One day at a time hon! Praying for us!!

Praying for us too!! Yeah I'm not taking it tonight. I had already thought that but after reading your post I Was absolutely sure. I'm calling in tomorrow for something different. I don't know how you went two whole weeks like this. This is day two of unbearable nausea and no appetite and I want to scream cry and run. Oh and of course throw up.
This is why I love this place. Thank you so much

You are welcome! I just kept hanging on to hope that it would start working. The moment my doc saw me he said no more. I looked a mess! Talk to your doctor! Let me know how you make out. 🙏

Hi NM,
The Klonopin should work well for you. It is quick acting, and has a short half life...meaning it will leave your system quickly. In other words, it will not have a building up in your system, and most likely very little side effects as a result.
The down side? It can carry dependency and tolerance issues. This is why many doctors tend to prescribe SSRI type drugs instead of benzodiazepines to manage daily anxiety.
However, if you do not have addiction issues, and take this Rx responsibly, you should be fine. It is often recommended to take on an as needed basis for acute panic episodes, rather than as a daily scheduled dose.
However, follow your doctor's advice, and see how you do.
Wishing you both the best!

I started taking Klonopin on August 2, and so far, it's been great.
I haven't had many of the really, really, terribly bad attacks since I started taking it, for the most part. I don't feel high or zombie-like, I just occasionally think, "Wow, I'm feeling pretty okay" or "Hey, I haven't hyperventilated today!"
The only side effect I've noticed so far is that it does seem to impair my driving ability a bit. I'm just a little less focused than normal. Part of that coincides with my depression issues, though.
I hope you find it as helpful as I have. If my dr could find something as useful for my depression, I'd be downright jubilant, I think.
Best of luck!
Joy
