Jess,
I am sorry that you are facing these challenges this week...however, I know that you can absolutely do this!
Black and white thinking gets me into trouble as well sometimes. It is a common thinking pattern for anxious people.
Instead of thinking "I can't leave, even if I need/want to!" try turning the thought around into this postive mantra: '"I have the ability to stay and get the job done!"
Envisioning a postive outcome, and remembering past experiences when you were successful even when nervous or doubtful will also help boost your confidence.
I also agree with Display that being forthcoming about your week without your co-worker. If your job is designed to be shared, or to have support...it may be unreasonable to expect that you can do it on your own...and therefore some allowances should be made. (extra breaks, help brought in if needed, ect.)
