Rick,I am so sorry to hear of your Mother's critical condition and I hope you recognize that you have a right to feel anxious as this is your Mother and this may be a life changing event for you. You are not going to die as people do not die from feeling anxious. It feels to me like your symptoms are related to your fears about your Mother and the stress you are undergoing right now.
I do know it is hard to see your Mother, who was once active, strong and healthy go through a period of weakness and deteriorate right before your eyes. However, remembering the good times and trying to focus on speaking of happy events will make the moment a little easier and perhaps reduce the stress and sadness. Share your feelings with your family and know it is OK to cry.
Don't stop talking to your Mother even though she is in a coma as many believe that patients in comas can hear you. Also talk to her and share your stories with her, even if it is about the news or weather. The sound of your voice may bring her comfort.
The problems you are feeling are normal for the place your in right now. If your feelings were not all over the place you would not be normal like the rest of us.
Sending healing prayers for your Mother and for you.
Kindly,
Kitt
