Thank you, Larry. You always have such positive, wise responses. I appreciate you. :) Thank you, also, for the offer to email you. I'll take you up on that.
The Xanax is great, but it only seems to be effective for panic for three or four hours and then I'm wanting to take it again. I'd also like to be anxiety-free without the use of controlled substances. I've had problems with drug dependence in the past (well, it's been many years and I was a stupid kid trying to self-medicate, but I know that these addictive drugs are nothing to take lightly) and am currently still hopelessly addicted to cigarettes. I know that the Xanax is prescribed by my doctor and that I am not going to abuse it as that part of my life and mentality is long gone. I know I really do need it and it's ok to take it. It's just that my panic is quite constant and in order for it to really control it I would have to be on it 24/7 and anyone's brain could easily become addicted. It's just not a logical long-term solution.
Did you end up with any dependence issues or have trouble getting off of it?
