Prayers for Grandson

I feel like a total failure, I had to have my Grandson put in jail tonight,
we got in a fight, I know he has mental issues but it spiralled completely
out of control, my Daughter called the police I wouldn't file charges but
I should have for his own good!

I humbly ask for only one thing please Pray for my Grandson, Joshua.

It must have been very hard for you but sometimes to help a child tough love is the only way. Don't blame yourself - I am sure you are a great grandpa.

I will pray for him and you. Sounds like you did the right thing. When he feels better I'm sure he'll understand. Boys are tough, I'm trying to raise 4. And tough love is the only way to survive.

Sorry about your grandson Larry, I know how you feel, had to do it to a brother-in-law once. Like everyone said it's tough love. Prayers for you and your daughter and of course Joshua..

Larry, it's called hard love! I've had to send my brother to the downtown detox units, salvation army, called the police on him, had a restraining order put against him for my mom, all because we love him and wanted him to get better. Sometimes hitting rock bottom with no trampoline in sight, makes you think about your future and what you need to do to get help. My brother finally accepted that he needed help, and did so. He has been stable and sober for 3 years, and his life has changed for the better quite dramatically. You have not failed your grandson, you have loved him enough to put him where he needs to be. I know it's not easy, but persistance can pay off in the long run. My brother has absolutely no bad feelings towards me, on the contrary he feels that I've helped him and understands that we did everything out of love and concern. Larry,

Know that you are wrapped in support (as you can see!) and that we are all praying for your family during this time.

You love your family with all of your heart...that much is obvious to anyone who knows you.

Love will prevail over these rough spots, and your wisdom will bring your family together for healing, and you will have grown and become stronger as a whole.

Let us know how you are doing as soon as you can.

I love my grandson with every fiber of my being. I know that your grandbaby getting put in jail must be a horrible feeling. I would hate to have to do it.

From your post, I can see that you did not intend harm. This may have been beneficial for your grandson. You may have just saved his life.
