Gastric Emptying Study - ugh

well, my endoscopy came out fine but he wants to do another test called a gastric emptying test because I had food in my stomach after fasting.  ugh   I don't want to take the radioactive(?) isotope saline in my food!  i'm sure i'll be anxious it will make me sick or my heart race or something stupid. 

has anyone had that???

It's actually easier than a barium swallow. It just takes more scans so they can watch how long it takes for it to empty. Really easy.

Hazle they are just checking to see why it takes so long for your system to empty, Peace.

Glad to hear that your scope went well!

Low stomach acid could be something that they are ruling out with this next test perhaps?

Lower levels of gastric acid can cause problems just as high ones can.

They will let you know of any possible reactions that you may have...but try not to anticipate any of them...because you may not have even one!!

I'm not sure if they're looking for that or not SC but now I'm having major anxiety about my test tomorrow because since my Endoscopy I have had a feeling of lump in my throat and I'm afraid the radioactive food is going to burn my throat I have read on Google but you can't touch the food but yet you're supposed to put it in your stomach so now I'm freaking out over it
