Serious drug interaction?

I typed in lithium, which I just cut in half to 150 mg a few days ago and viibryd are listed as a serious drug interaction. Something about seritonin syndrome. I stopped my 10 mg viibryd cold turkeh a few days ago per my psychs advice. Its been hell these last couple days. And what type of dr would do this? He has me on so many meds, for panic disorder, that he doesnt check drug interactions?

I feel your pain, my primary care physician put me on viibryd and did not wean me off of tramadol then I got serotonin sydrome because he started me on the starter kit which increases the dose every week and on day 15 when the dose increased I had the go to the er for serotonin syndrome. I refuse to take any antidepressant now because I now have the lingering withdrawal symptom of panic attacks which the drug companies fail to mention. So now I take only ativan until my body returns to normal. I saw a psichiatrist for the first time about three weeks ago and he thinks that I may have a hormone imbalance that caused the reaction so I will be seeing my ob/gyn for that. The ativan really helps me sleep because when I came off the Viibryd I could not sleep at all it was like pure hell on earth. I could not see straight, my head hurt and there's a whole other list of things it caused that have subsided but I am healing slowly thank God.

Serotonin syndrome has been around for years and can be a very serious interaction or reaction.

In the 30 years I have been on depression medications no Dr. has ever talked to me about this and I take more than one of the meds that could cause it.

Do ask your Dr. about your meds as not everyone gets Serotonin syndrome but it is very wise to know the drugs we are taking.

So its seritonin withdrawl according to thr dr. A different dr in his practice told me to just stop the 10 mg of Viibryd and I would be fine since it was such a low dose. Wrong. They told my to start retaking 5 mg and taper down from there.thank you god I finally got an answer.

The er phycisian managed to get ahold of the psychiatrist of the office I go to. On a Sunday. Talked to him and figured it out. I thank God for physicians who dont just brush us off.
