Going backward

My week has been full of anxiety and panic. A co-worker friend set a timer to check on me every 3 hours (at work and at home) to make sure I was remembering to eat, and be awake, and be present...and stay away from the boss. My entire body was shaking and I kept running into things, and everytime I touched any paper I somehow managed to cut my fingers. I was glad to have someone looking out for me and it is good to know that I have support at work, but I hate that I need that. I hate that I can't just keep moving forward, and I hate that I need other people to help me. I expect perfection, and then I fall apart trying to sustain it. I'm making myself crazy!

I am really sorry that you are having a bad week. Have you been able to pinpoint the source of the increased stress?

Do you have an appointment with your P-doc/therapist coming up soon where you can talk abot this?

It sounds like it is at a pretty critical level, so maybe you can call and set one up if you have not already.

Remeber that none of us get through life alone, without help. Try to see your co-workers looking after you as simply a favor that one day you will return....not in the same way maybe, but we all have our own areas where we need assitance.

So, apparently I was behaving abnormally today. A coworker called my doctor and I was told if I didn't go to the hospital they were sending an ambulance to get me. Which resulted in...another med change. I dislike everything about this situation.

Just saw this thread now. Sorry your having a hard time :( also, how does this co-worker have the right to call your doctor?? How does he/she have access to that info? I really don't understand when people especially people at work get into other peoples business. I understand if they are concerned or worried....but first why not come to you? And ask if your ok? I know personally. I get very angry when people threaten me with 'The hospital' speech. I look at them and say "I have anxiety....ok most times its hard to deal with and sometimes I'm not ok. But don't treat me like I'm 5 and threaten me with 'the hospital'. Yeah anxiety is extremely hard to deal with but...what are you going to do lock me up my whole life?" It's annoying that some people don't really understand anxiety/depression. But also keep in mind that they can't force you into the hospital. Well....we all know they can take you there if they think your at 'risk' but they can't admit you unless you say your going to harm yourself or someone else. It's just hurts when people don't understand your not in control of your own anxiety and body right now and they are controlling you! And sometimes making the situation worse. I'm sorry this is happening to you, I hope it gets better soon! I'm always here to listen. (:

I guess I should clarify. 1st, I work in mental health, so it's really not that difficult for a coworker to find out who my doctor is. 2nd, I don't talk so someone else is always making the phone calls for me while I'm sitting next to them. My coworker friend did talk to me first before calling and I was with her when she called. It was my doctor who threatened to send an ambulance if I didn't go to the hospital on my own. You know that list of "rare but serious side effects" that accompany all medications and say to call your doctor immediately? I was experiencing those. I have an opposite problem from most people here - when something is wrong I always write it off as just being anxiety. It's all good. I had kind of a rough day and just wanted to sleep at my desk, but I didn't do it.  And I learned that my doctor knows who I am and my history without having to check her notes.

la5ni- ok I'm sorry must have misunderstood. sorry to hear things are so shaky for you right now :( I hope your ok now. If ever you need to vent we are all here. Are you ok health wise?? I know you said you had a 'serious side effect' I do hope your ok now.

Hi I a5ni. You said you shake a lot. so do I .Do you shake inside your body and tremble? I do. I throw up in the morning. My thighs to my feet tingle and burn and my hands tingle and hurt. I feel sick all the time. I am all ways tired. I am all ways cold. I have no appetite. Sometimes its hard to swallow. Do you have any of these symptoms? Misty.

You don't sound like you are in a very good place right now and I am so sorry.  Hopefully when you see your Dr. some sort of medical screening will be done as well as information shared by the physician with you.

Fatigue - definitely is a fun spoiler.

The last couple of weeks have been kind of rough in regards to anxiety and medication. I visited a friend today who has known me since 10th grade and is generally very supportive. She spent three hours telling me that nothing will ever help me and I should just give up and accept things the way they are. I guess that means I'm finally wearing on her and need to find a new safe outlet.

I am sorry about that...

...Maybe you caught your friend at a bad time in her own situation? I am sure that she did not intentionally mean to hurt or dismiss your feelings.

It is almost impossible for someone who has not experienced anxiety themselves to know what we go through.

Keep talking with us as we do comprehend the struggles that you are facing.

How are you in your med progress? Any improvement or relief?
