Don't know what to do

So, I kind of collapsed at work today. I was in a friend's office, but another coworker was also present. Both are super great and understanding. I know the coworker who I don't know really well has struggled with some anxiety issues in the past and I know neither would report back to the boss - because she is super high strung and would make a bigger deal out of it than is needed. Here's my dilemma though: On top of collapsing in front of coworkers, I have been having muscle spasms (mostly in my jaw and shoulders) and cannot get warm (the boiler was on the fritz today and it was 85 degrees in my office and I still had on a jacket and a coat). I'm always super tired and have a hard time focusing on what I'm doing and where I'm at. I'm pretty sure these are side effects of meds because they all started when my prescription was changed. My friend at work wants to call my doctor (because I don't talk and can't call) but I feel bad asking her to do that and I feel like it might just be making a big deal out of nothing. I have my regular appointment on the 13th of this month. I'm not sure if I should just wait or if I should give in to the concerns. I'm at a loss.

I keep thinking life would be much easier if I could talk, then I wouldn't have to worry about bothering my friends and family with my issues because I could take care of things directly without needing a go-between. My doctors office knows a few of my friends and are good about relaying information through them, but it causes greater anxiety to have to go through someone else. Which is why I generally just let things go and don't report unwanted side effects unless someone else notices. Sometimes life just sucks.

Yes, my thyroid has been checked, along with everything else. I just have anxiety. Lots and lots of anxiety.

If you don't mind me asking, what medication does your doctor want to discontinue?

Do you think it's possible that since so many of your tests are coming back negative that some of what you are experiencing could be side effects to whatever medication your doc wants to d/c? How long have you been on that particular med?

Do you have a plan with your doctor to d/c the Abilify? Or is that something he told you to stop immediately? I'm not familiar with it, personally,....I'm curious.

I can relate to being that 0.00001% who get reactions. I'm also on the side that gets wired, buzzy and hyper if I take even a small amount of Benadryl. I've been on other meds before where, just like you, it seems to be the exception and not the rule re: s/e's.

You're ruling things out, but at least you're trying. As long as you're trying, you're doing something. So if by trying it means stopping the Abilify, then you're not giving up!

I am sorry that this is all so hard and confusing right now! I do hope that you do not give up, but rather can continue with your doctor to find something that works for you. There is bound to be something, or combination that will ultimately bring you relief.
