I wrote on your other thread. We have a similar past. I don't usually log on every day anymore, maybe a few days here and there and then off for weeks, months at a time now. If you wrote back on your original post I'll keep the conversation going and will check back in with you tomorrow morning my time.

That is a very gracious offer Joshua.

New members, please keep in mind that answers do not always come immediately. (or even within half an hour!)

Our contributors and mods are all regular people...here giving of their own time..with jobs, and families.

I for one try to keep most Friday nights a family night.

Kmv I feel the same way as you sometimes. We come here in desperate need of reassurance that others have been in our situations and hearing their stories will help us. I know when I've had to post I just sit there afraid that no one will read it and it will get lost in the crowd but with time, someone does respond.

As others have said people don't stare at the forums waiting for us to come along, we just have to be patient and they will respond in time.

I am sorry you did not get a response as quickly as you wanted but I am wondering if you perhaps think the forums work like a "chat room" -

You posted at 11:18 PM my time last night and most of our members are on USA time which means there is not a lot of activity but the site is up and running 24/7. However, you did get responses yet at 11:45 PM you posted this thread. Perhaps you meant it as a sincere "thank you?"

Lots of members like to come here and post a vent, share what is happening at the moment ETC even if they do not receive an immediate response.

An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages. They differ from chat rooms in that messages are often longer than one line of text, and are at least temporarily archived.

I am online most days from 0800-1700 and leave the evening for people that work during the day.

I will post to your original thread now.

People in here try and do the best they can, but they are not our doctor. They are here for support, and help. They cannot be here at our beck and call. Keep in mind they might not be feeling well at the moment, or the day either. I personally am grateful for anyone who takes the time to respond at all. It helps alot, but we can't be demanding of others' time either. It took a little while for me to get a response from someone when I first joined, but I was patient. Also if you do feel that bad that you need an answer now, waiting for someone to answer is just going to make you more anxious. All the people on here really do try and help.

Ys thank you. And I do know the difference between a chat room and a forum. I was just very anxious and wanted to talk to someone because I felt a severe panic attack coming on and I didn't have anyone to talk to. I just wanted to keep my mind off of it. My apologies.

We all know what it feels like to post something hoping someone is there to support you.  Everyone tries to do the best they can and respond as quickly as possible.  I too have posted here in the midst of a panic attack hoping for an immediate response.  And very often I receive one!  Please know that people on this site care very much and want to be there for others.  Depending on when you post (time zones and all) it may be a while before you hear from someone.  But that doesn't mean people don't care.  Please give everyone a chance.  This is a great group of people who understand what you're going through.  You won't find a better support group anywhere.

No need to apologize. Honest!

As you've read, so many of us have come here in the throes of a panic attack and felt that need to connect with someone else who will understand. There are many of us who spend a great deal of time alone, so those connections we form here are deeply cherished.

Don't give up....this is a very active forum, and most of the time we have people from all over popping in and out. We do our best....there isn't always a wait, but if we accept that sometimes there is,....it does help.

also, take a walk, go for a stroll around the block or in a park, do somethiing to keep your mind busy, walking for me listening to a relaxing pandora radio station works well. then i wind up walking for a few hours. walking is powerful...
