Getting worse and worse and worse... doctors say it's anxiety?

I decided to sleep it off... again as usual I couldnt sleep, i was hearing a couple of strange popping noises (heard them before on some other days too, and when my ear was infected previously). Since then I have been feeling worse and worse and worse... I feel physically pretty sick. I still have this weird headache in the right side of my head though now it seems to have changed...

I went to the doctors and tried to tell them this as best I could
but due to them labelling me with anxiety in the past thats what they immediately blamed it on. I have seen the doctors several times (different ones). Including one I had never seen before yesterday and again he blamed it on anxiety and just gave me some meds which only decrease the physical symptoms of it such as palpitations, sweating, shortness of breath etc.

The day before I had been to the hospital with chest pains and with the headaches.. they did an ECG, BP and BPM check on my heart. Shone a light behind my eyes and he said he didnt think it was anything serious, and totally disregarded the mental symptoms id been having / still having as anxiety.... none of them seem to realize that this has all come on in the last two weeks...

Today Im having blood tests done which wont be back until monday
Usually that would bother me to hell but at the moment I just feel emotionally dead... this feels like a living hell and im getting worse and worse every day and no one seems to care or sees it. I wish there was a way they could step into my body and see what im talking about but sadly there isnt.

I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe this is all due to anxiety...

At the moment this is driving me mad... I have barely slept in over a week and just feeling worse and worse...

I too have just signed up to this site and am posting for the first time. All that you have said sounds so familiar. My life has been turned upside down by anxiety and depression over the last 3 and a half years.I am only now starting to accept that my particular (and they are particular to each and every one of us) problems/symptoms are mainly caused by anxiety and depression and are not (in my view) helped by the side effects of medication. I too have had all the tests and despite the reassurance of several doctors still have a brain that is determined to convince me otherwise. I describe my symptoms as the 'boiling kettle' effect. in that I simmer away until i get to a certain point where my body decides to release masses of adrenaline causing me to feel my heart doing its best to escape from the confinds of my chest cavity. This then results in an overwhelming (and I mean OVERWHELMING) feeling of "Oh S**T, I'm going to die". No matter how many of these events I have experienced (The most I have counted was 37 in one day) It STILL has this effect on me. It takes about 1.5 Hours to recover and during that period I am very vulnarable to another event due to my heightened anxiety, so it is pretty much a vcious circle. I have been diagnosed as having 'Major' depression (standard is not good enough for me) and health anxiety. Life is pretty miserable at the moment and I too have had thoughts of "is it worth fighting for". I have thankfully decided that it is (hence the reason I am stll here ) and intend to use this forum to USE the experience of others as a positive on my road to happiness. Stick in there Gremlin It WILL get better. Accept what is happening and move forward, I know its hard, very hard, but you will get there and so will I. Take care

gremlin168 Welcome to HealingWell and know you have come to the right place to meet others that understand what you are going through. Assuming that you are under the regular care of your doctor...and with so many ER visits...you are bound to have ruled out any physical reason for these symptoms...you can most likely assume that you are dealing with anxiety. Now that does not mean that these feelings aren't physical in nature, and very real and really frightening...it just means that they have originated from anxiety, not in some disease or condition of the body. Therefore they need to be treated differently. Have you discussed your options with your doctor? Therapy and medication are the two most common ways to manage this issue. We also have a great Resource Guide here on our main page, 1st post. Check it out and see if there is something there that looks like it could be of help. Keep posting with us as well. I have only been to the ER once and the doctors really dont seem to care that much... from day one all they said was anxiety...

What I experienced today was really abnormal and im really tempted to give the healthline another call
