BS,First of all I want to give you some warm virtual hugs and tell you that you are OK, and you will find so many members here that experience the same things you are going through. You have come to the right place for support and sharing.
I am sorry that you are dealing with this issue at the moment. It is a very scary to have torturous thoughts, and many of us can empathize.
Sometimes people around us can't relate and it's hard not to be frustrated and see that they don't it deliberately. Anxiety and despair are scary things and those who never had a chance to experience them can't understand what we are going through.
My hubby has been dealing with my depression and anxiety for over 30 years but 90 % of the time I do well. I do have a psychiatrist and I do go to therapy when things get really bad.
Many of us have great friends and family, but maybe they can't relate, or we have to be the stability for the household...but we understand that it is important to talk with those who truly understand what each other is dealing with...and here we all share common struggles and experiences.
I experience anticipatory anxiety and I am sensing that is a problem for you also. Here is a link that will explain how the "what if?" thoughts work.

Kitt
