Stress Management & Medication Question!

Is there any other way to release stress besides exercising i tried jogging but that made me panic since i know ehen you run and workout your heart rate increases but since i have really bad anxiety i start thinking stupid and it gets me not to work out as much :( im trying to find other ways to cope with the anxoety like listening to music which helps me but thete is still times where i feel really tensed and my whole body feels heavy :( also i knoe i have asked this questions before but i have not tsken ativan in about 1month and a half or 2 months i think and yesterday i took a 1mg ativan brcause the whole day i had a anxiety attack. I wont get hooked or have withdraws right? I simply ask this question because i easily worry about stuff :( and before thr 2 months i took ativan maybe like 4 times in a period of 2 months and before that i didnt take ativan for like 1 year or 2 i rarely take ativan and if i do its only in extreme cases where i cannot handle my anxiety attack i never take it like everyday. Please help!!

Thank you for that consideration :) i will look into that :) it does sound relaxing and it would get mind off alot of things hehehe. And by any chance would you know a answer to the second part of my post?

I find stretching to be really helpful when I'm feeling anxious. I do yoga poses and just a bunch of gentle stretches, usually listening to music, but sometimes if I'm so anxious that I really want a "distraction" I'll watch something funny on TV while doing it. Maybe stretching or gentle yoga will work better for you as a stress reliever than vigorous exercise like running. Good luck!!

Thank you scaredy Cat and sorry for the late response lol I'm always asking the question about withdrawals because i always here it from people that take ativan and xanax and other anti physch pills and they have withdrawals but that's because they take it for a long period of time every single day ... me i only take it in emergency cases. like today i took a 2mg dose i had a terrible anxiety attack omg i was freaking out sooooo bad. and before that the last time i took a Ativan was 1 mg last Sunday. you have been a great help :) and i am currently going to click on the link for stress management and see what that link has to offer. so just to be sure withdrawals would only happen to people who have taken the medication for a extensive period of time every single day and stop cold turkey right ? a reply would be appreciated SCAREDY CAT :)

Hi N.P.,

You do not sound at all high risk for becoming dependent on your Ativan Rx. You show much concern about it for one...and take it as sparingly as you can and certainly within the parameters of how it was prescribed to you. These are not red flags of one who could become addicted.:)
