hey! Im Jack, I have cptsd and depression/anger. the anger is the one I have the most trouble with. It seems im stuck in fight mode. I need a way to relax and get over some of this anger. My ptsd is not too bad anymore, everything else has got worse.

Hey Jack. Welcome!
Here is a place where you can write whenever you feel troubled and disturbed.
It's good to share.
Just don't lose hope, there is no problem that can't be solved.

Hello and welcome to our Forum.
Great place to share your feelings and ask questions.
Best of all, we're quite a great mix of people, so you're pretty much guaranteed to find others who can identify with what you're going through!

I understand your fight mode, I to came home from military
with PTSD, I had to make a decision, keep my mind in the war
or alow my world to have Peace, "you can do it". Peace

Blackdogxx, it helps to write things down or find a quiet place and talk it out with the wind. I have to do that sometimes and sometimes I just blow up and then I have to say I am sorry. If you have a pet then pet it when you feel stress. Talk it out with your Minister.
your right getting out of fight mode isn't easy. My step dad came home from 2nd tour in Vietnam he slept with his gun under his pillow and if my mom hadn't gotten through to him in time he would have shot her and all she was doing was turning done the fan.

Hey Jack, how are you doin? Hey I work with Vets everyday, build military vehicles. Most have had a struggle or two adjusting to civilian life. One guy I know very well. Did 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He was working pretty well after Iraq, always joking and carrying on. But he got the call one day at work, he was to report to so and so and head back to Afghanistan. We all saw the change in him immediately. After Iraq there were things he wasnt allowed to speak of, some he needed to.
When he came home from Afghanistan he was totally different. Didnt want to talk to anyone. He broke down one day and said he did what he was expected to do, he made the call that saved the units live but will wear on him forever. He left work early that day and wasnt back for a week. Went off on medical leave. I really dont know the whole story as I didnt want to ask. If he wanted to talk id listen. He had said he went to the VA to talk about
some things and met another Vet there who offered him to join a little support group him and some other Vets did on thursdays. A little poker and BS time with other Vets. Week by week you could see him being more productive at work. Eventually returning to his old joking self. He eventually quit and took a position in Washington, doing what I dont know. Cant say hanging with other Vets would cure you, or even help. But I know what it did for him. They understood. They cared. Once a Marine always a Marine. I personally was never military, but I see daily how much you all care for each other. Its a bond most of us will never get to enjoy, and maybe even not understand.
Thank you for your service. I am forever greatful. A debt of gratitude my friend. Youll be just fine. And until you are, we will protect you, as you have us. Bank on that. Take care!
