Please share your klonopin experience

I struggle so bad with medication anxiety (among other things!) But I have the the point where I'm willing to do something different to see if it helps. Two days ago I started taking the medicine... BUT I'm too afraid to take the whole pill so Im only taking half of a .5mg once a day. My doctor prescribed .5mg 3x a day but I'm scared to increase my dose.. I don't think that what I am taking is even doing anything but I keep worrying that its making me feel funny which only makes me more nervous to continue taking it. Im sure its all in my head so I thought it would help if I could hear some stories from other people who have experience with this medication. I'm actually taking the generic.

Any info or personal experiences would be so helpful.

Hi,

I used to take Klonopin every day. 25mg 2x a day, that was 2 months ago! Now I only take it when I really need it- I like that it provides the quick ( it takes about 20-30 min for it to start working) relief :-)

It makes me feel like nothing really matters! That I don't like...

in my experience i have tried three medicine of benzodiazepin and my experience is that

Diazepam = mood booster , muscle relexant and deep sleep if any one have slight OCD,then its appropreate for him and if any one suffer from both anxiety + depression slight, diazepam is best for second line treatment

alprazolm = quick relief for panic attacks ( i am keep this in my pocket as when needed )

clonazepam (klonopin) is sober effect work slightly slow than other but
not too much late its starting in 20 to 30 minuites in RACING THOUGHTS klonopin is best when no need imergency klonopin is best.
but should take it regular to keep its metaboloism effective !

i take clonozepman 1 mg per day in the morning and have had no side effects, other than it makes me slightly sleepy. it does quell the anxiety for me, which is always worse in the mornings. i hope you too will get to the point of having it help you!

Glad to hear mostly good things! I'm still chugging forward.. my next step is to try to increase my dose. Hopefully it wont take me a month.. lol

I'm surprised that more people don't have experience with this medication. Since it's often prescribed for anxiety I thought I'd get a lot more responses.

I have been on klonopin on a as needed basis for a little under a year. I have to say that for the most part I like this benzo. I have tried xanax and that worked wonders. Klonopin isn't as strong in my opinion but it settles you down more. Although one thing I will warn you about it to make sure you write down times you take them as far as the date if it is on a as needed basis. It is very easy to become addicted to this medicine psychologically in my opinion.

but overall it is really helped me

I had no bad side effects from Klonopin, it just wasn't something I could pop in my mouth and help the anxiety quickly, so I saw no sense in taking it, because in my mind I want something that can help me now, and xanax has been the only thing that I can do that with(I have been on valium before and it helped a little, but nothing like xanax)

I am the "Queen" of side effects and benzos have never bothered me.

I feel like you do. I don't want to take it because I don't know how it will make me feel and so by the time I talk myself into taking it I'm even more anxious and it only helps a little. I would suggest to take it on a regular basis as your doctor prescribed until you are better able to judge when you need it or not. I am currently on Ativan and it is working well. Klonopin has always helped in the past too.
