Anxiety is nasty it strikes when it wants, just reading some of your symptoms here brings on the same symptoms your feeling. The power of suggestion is strong with us.

Oh-uh.:(
Yeah, this has been an issue for some members before. There can certainly be triggers around here that we have to safeguard ourselves against.
It is okay to step back for a time if you need to. Take care of yourself first and foremost!

That happens to me on pain forums. Or with anything. When I hear about
other people's pain, I notice my own. I do have to step back too from time to time.
Hope you are feeling better...
Hugs, Karen...

Oh my gosh, yes! We need a forum with nothing but bunnies leaping through soft, green meadows.

Happens to me all the time. I really try and squash those feelings when they come up, but it's hard.

Same here but not too often, I just skip some post titles which seem a bit "diagnosed for real!!" to me, if you know what I mean. But sometimes it's hard to avoid.
Other than that, it's nice to be here with you all. And helps a lot...

I have had to stop reading a few things in here, and on the internet also. I would immediately get the same symptoms, or even the next day. We are so prone to feeling every little thing. I agree lets just start a thread about
rainbows, etc...Hope you are feeling better today, as well as everyone else.

It has done the same to me, but this forum has been more helpful than any other one I have been in. I have at least accepted that I know I can't control my panic attacks, for now, so I could be reading a My little pony book and have a panic attack.
I know when I was drinking badly years ago, I went to a couple AA and NA meetings, I couldn't go any more the meetings almost glamorized the addiction and it made me want to drink/use, and what I mean by glamorize is that they would go into too many feelings that an alcoholic/drug addict can identify with and it made me want to use, it didn't help me not want to use. I don't want to hear the wonderful feelings you had while an addict, I want to know what you did to change your life.

D.S.
We did not get you wrong...you bring up an important point!!
We all have triggers that we need to guard.
Even though this place is wonderful and for the most part completely helpful...there are topics that we might need to avoid...
...and even times where it could be necessary to step away, depending on our current state.
The bottom line to remember here is that this community is here to help us feel better...
post when you want/need to post...
...and steer around anything that could increase your anxiety!
XOXOXOXO everyone!

I used to be the exact same way with my HA. Just reading about
, seeing, learning about
,...various illnesses or diseases, I had worked myself up so much and convinced myself I had everything in the book!!
This takes effort to overcome. We do all have triggers, and slowly over time, by exposing yourself gently to them, you'll get stronger! :)

This is why we need a recreation forum where we can converse with our members about
non-anxiety/depression related topics!! :))
I was wondering....could we create a sticky thread that is unrelated to anxiety/depression/mental disorders? That thread can be a sticky thread so it won't disappear and we can visit it anytime we want. We can post topics unrelated to mental disorders. Like...food, sports, movies, music, travel..just about
anything as long as it's unrelated to anxiety/depression.
There are anxiety related forums on the internet and the majority of them have recreation rooms for the members. It's actually quite effective because we can take our mind off our problems for a little while! Then we can start posting again on the main forum about
anxiety.
I have always wanted to ask the administrator/mods about
this! Would love to hear from you guys! ;)

Apparently you can't talk about
food issues on an Anxiety/depression forum, even if it isn't a harmful post, so starting a thread on food would probably bring happiness all around.

Only Peter can start a sticky thread...
...I can ask, but I know he likes to limit them to essential/emergency info...like our Resources.
However, anyone can start a fun topic thread, and just keep it bumped to the top!!
We haven't had one in awhile...so come on and step up somebody!! :) :) :)
