is amitriptyline take anyone or have info for actual use.
my GP prescribed me 10mg at night for depression.
i have actually anxiety +slight ocd . is this medicine experienced work both for anxiety and depression ?

I dont think ive heard it used for anxiety, but it might. I do know a few friends and my sister use it for pain management. Not sure of the friends, but my sister has migraines and her mind races when she goes to bed. Amitriptyline has really helped her. Sorry wish I could be of more help.

Yes, this Rx is indicated for anxiety, though it of of the TCA class of meds, where SSRI/SSNRI's are more commonly prescribed.

You can certainly do a search here under 'Amitriptyline/Elavil for anxiety' and read more member input.

Remember though that everyone's experiece is unique...and just use whatever you read as a guidline.

thanks trader and scaredy for yr help for me. for two dsys of 2dose taken n i am quite well . i think anti depression drugs indirectly use in both depression n anxiety because in both have unpleasent mood i think every antidepressent inhibite serotonin level that create happy mood . dr. does right i have no prob from this drug. thank you

i am trying to less the dose of benzodiazepines ! that took from a year.
