is anyone thinking about ebola making them nervous

Usually, I kind of freak out over any potential epidemic. Last week, I was stuck on a 5 hour flight with nothing to read, so nothing to do but watch tv. I watched Ebola updates on the news for about 4 straight hours. Amazingly, I did not feel anxiety... I felt just this overwhelming feeling of compassion for everyone affected (the nurses who treated Duncan, the families, the victims, the ppl in the countries where it really IS an out-of-control epidemic, the health care workers there, everyone....). The next day, I got tears in my eyes talking about it w someone..... They don't even have the supplies they need in some parts of the world, they don't have enough gloves and other things, I can't even say.... It really makes me so sad to think about it.....
Anyway, I honestly do not believe that it is all that easy to contract Ebola. All the people who had been in contact w Duncan are now fine, out of the woods - I believe the 21 day time period is up either today or tmrw - including ppl who LIVED in the SAME HOUSE w him! They were there w him before anyone knew what illness he had, and they are all fine...
The 2 nurses who did catch it were in contact w his bodily fluids, cleaning up him and his room when he was very, very sick and exhibiting severe symptoms.
I honestly do not think the general public has anything to worry about w Ebola...! Pls don't worry. :)

I feel so deeply for the poor folks in W. Africa too.Not fearful of it hitting in the U.S. to any great extent. I think we need to spend more time thinking of people over there who have no hope....get out of our own unreasonable fears and think about the ones truly needing our compassion. Sometimes when I "get out of my own head" and try to have compassion for others it makes my anxiety lessen.
