heart palpitations and feeling as though I have to catch my breath when swallowing/breathing..not sure if dat makes sense...but da symptoms jst came on pretty heavy abt 30 mins ago...not sure wat to do!! Had several test ran on my heart back in Oct. Everything was fine ...xrays on lungs dun as well...was told everything looked healthy...HELPPPPPP. ..is dis feeling common????

Yes, it's very common, stop, slow down, take very deep breaths to slow your heart down. Then calm down and try not to think about breathing, when you think about it, it makes it worse. If you can, try to do something that will take your mind off of everything...take a walk, watch TV....it should go away....

Ray, this is Larry, this is common panic and the symptoms are
caused by adrenaline, dont worry, the adrenaline will burn off after a while and you will start to calm down, it may leave you shaky but pay no attention, adrenalin also will lower blood sugar and make one feel shaky.
If you think about it i believe you have had these before and you
always get ok, you will win this battle so dont be afraid, Peace

Thnx u guys ...its driving me crazy.. feels like my heart is abt to stop when I breathe in wit a palpitation..but yes I believe ive had dis symptom before but not sure but I will try to calm dwn!! :-)

Ray, the best thing you can do is something that occupies your
mind, Praying helps when we pray for others, but anything that
you can really lock on to will help the symptoms to ease off,
I have been where you are now, you will move past this, Peace

Hi Ray.

How are you feeling today? It does sound like you are getting symptoms of high anxiety have you spoken with you doctor re anxiety?

There is lots that can be done to help ease the symptoms of anxiety such as taking medication or doing some type of talking therapies such as CBT or Mindfulness which have been a proven way to help you manage your anxiety better.

Thnx...yes I continue to pray even tho sumtimes it feels as tho god has given up on me...I try to remain positive but positivity doesnt seem to b doin me any good at this point...but im hopeful...and yes I was in therapy but becuz I loss my vehicle I havent been able to make it...I am currently taking ativan and it seems to calm me but I really dont want to become dependant on dat....jst wish it was sumthin dat I could do to ease my symptoms naturally...and thnx for da info on pvs. ..I will check into that rite afta I finish responding....also is it normal to have this pressure feeling in my eyes and head when I have a palpitatation?

I get pressure feelings in my head with anxiety at times.

I do hope that the links were informative and helpful...and that you are feeling better today!

Have hope. We are all working towards recovery, and out of the trials that anxiety causes. We can learn from this experience, and gain strength and wisdom through our journeys. God has not given up on you...so don't give up on yourself, or the process of getting well!
