To all that pray I would like to offer this as I have just come to terms with my body.

My prayer for all,

I pray now in God's holy name that whomever reads and believes this prayer shall find peace and comfort in the name of Jesus. Our father in heaven knows out souls are in a hard bind, he also has told us to not be afraid. Father in heaven has placed his spirit of peace and love over us and he shall never leave. God we ask that you cast out the nasty spirits that try to over take us and replace them with your spirits of love joy peace and happiness. In your glorious and holy name AMEN.

You are very welcome my dear. It is a prayer that I want you to find peace and comfort in. I hope that it works and you remember the peace of mind god has promised us all.

Hey Jessica!

I thought I responded to this post the other day too... Apparently a few of my posts did not go through! Whoops!!! Just wanted to thank-you for sharing that with us. One of the most comforting part of my anxiety is knowing that God is sovereign and has full control on this, and every situation. Trusting that has seemed to be more of a learned experience for me, as it wasn't quite natural. :)

But I just want to say AWESOMEness for bringing faith and anxiety together! They do go hand-in-hand!

And Cornell.... prayers are being sent up daily for God to show his face as the great comforter to you and your family during this really tragic time.

The Bible says "to ask in My name and ye shall receive".

I loved to hear that you asked for 'peace and comfort' in Jesus's name - your prayer came at a time that I (and my family) needed it the most and I thank you for that!

TMA - don't stress... Learning to put your faith and hope in God is hard work and it don't take place overnight. Even the most spiritual people on this Earth are still "perfecting" their walk with our Heavenly Father. It's a journey where we grow closer and closer to Him but it's a relationship where we will always fall "short" until we enter the Kingdom!

I am going through a time of not being sure of what I believe when it comes to god. As a child and teen I wasn't one who went to church much but I always believed and would pray and felt like I was listened to. I'm not sure when it happened but there came a time when I wasn't sure that I believed anymore. I think that once my mom died a few years ago I always felt like if there was really an afterlife that I would somehow still feel her presence and I never have. That might sound silly but it is part of it. Also when I used to pray I would just feel this sort of safe feeling that I don't anymore.

I HATE not feeling comfortable with answering my kids when they ask what happens after we die. I was always taught that there was a heaven and it was such a relief to me. I want my kids to feel that too but I don't feel right telling them that because I don't know myself what I believe.

Since all of this has started I have tried to go back to believing.I've prayed and listened to religious podcasts. I'm still not sure what I believe but I so wish I I knew. I think that there is such peace in believing. Maybe one of these days I'll get there. Even if not I find posts like this very comforting.

I am so glad that all of you can find comfort in this prayer. I found that it did help me a lot. I am so glad that people are turning back to god.

Billy- I understand about loosing your way after a loved one is gone, as I have done the same, but I also know that even though I do not feel my family they are there and I can be happy in knowing that the peace I have felt they also feel only much better and forever. I do pray you find your way back and much closer to your beliefs.

Thanks Jessica that really means a lot. I actually felt this way before my mom died but it seems to get worse as time goes on. I haven't completely given up but in my heart I just don't know that I really believe it anymore but boy do I wish I did.

A good point was brought up here about differing beliefs...

I believe that though we don't all call upon the same higher power...we can all agree that as humans, we are spiritual beings.

Expressing ourselves through our faith here is fine, so long as it is not done in a manner of proselytizing, coercion or disrepect of anyone else's beliefs. (see rule #6)

I know what I believe, and have great confindence in it...therefore if someone wanted to offer up a prayer to 'The Pillsbury Dough Boy' for example...I would be completely fine with that...(silly example, just for argument's sake)

However, if anyone is uncomfortable with any material here, I would encourage you to contact me (or another moderator) so that we can discuss and remedy any issues.

This is afterall a forum focused on anxiety as its main directive.

Our spirituality (whatever it may be as we are all different and have different beliefs) is a huge part of our healing process when it comes to our anxiety disorder. It has been such an important tool for my own treatment! (I hate to think of my religion as a "tool" though as it is so much more than that).

Therefore, I would encourage you to post about your spirituality anytime (keeping it within rule #6 Ofcourse). If someone doesn't believe what you believe then that's fine... They don't have to comment on your post...

I respect all of you and your views and beliefs. I know not everyone agrees with me but it doesn't change the fact that we are dear friends and we will always "agree to disagree"... (On any subject for that matter)

As I said, this prayer was beautiful (not sure I read where anyone disputed that) and it was a blessing to me as well many others!

Lord knows I need all the prayers I can get! (I've been known to wander off His path)
