Just wondering if there is anyone successful on 5 mg
Lexapro ?

I haven't personally been on Lexapro, but I was prescribed it this summer by my pdoc. I did so much research on this drug. I did see MANY stories of success on a lower dose. My perscription is actually just for 5 mg! If you are feeling satisfactory at 5 mg, I would ask your doctor if it's okay to stay there. Good luck!!

It's been 2 weeks and not really feeling much of anything
Dr said try one more week and then maybe increase but just curious if 5 mg actually worked

Hi

I was on Lexapro a few years back at 10mg and found it to be a good medication for me but we are all different when it comes to antidepressants and what works well for one person may not work well for an other.

Lexapro is the strongest of all the ssri's and has a max dosage of just 20mg I would see how you go over the next couple of weeks as it can take a while to get into your system and if things are the same go back and speak with your doctor. I hope it works well for you keep us posted on how you are getting on.

Sorry to hear it's not helping you out just yet! I take even less than 5 mg of Lexapro and it has worked wonders. My anxiety was reduced within 2 days and even better after 2 weeks. I have been on it for around 7 months now. I am especially sensitive to prescription medicine though, and have to take low doses for that reason. Hope you get this figured out!

Oh interesting ...so I took for 1 week 2.5 and then upped to 5 mg so it's only been technically a week on the 5 so dr said to wait it out
I tend to be very sensitive to med school too ..like if I need I take half of a half of Xanax and it works usually
So hopefully it will work

I've never tried Lexapro. I felt hopeful when reading that it's helped people so I looked it up. I saw that it can cause weight gain, which completely freaks me out. Has anyone taking it experienced that?

My doctor promised that it won't cause weight gain..so far I haven't noticed any...

I did not notice any weight gain on Lexapro so I agree with your doctor but remember we are all different when it comes to AD and react in different ways.

Hello there... I'm currently on lexapro and on 5mg and have been on lexapro for 8-9 weeks now....I have also taken lexapro twice in my past and always used 5mg and it always worked great for me....this third time around I'm feeling a little hopeless like if it's not working the same... Idk if maybe its just the stress I currently have. But try it out!
