Klonopin

Hi. I was just prescribed Klonopin for my anxiety. Does anyone here have any experiences they can share with me about this medication?

Hi

I have never taken Klonopin but I have taken similar and found them to work well for anxiety so I hope it works well for you. Medications will only help to ease your symptoms so it is always a good idea to do some talking therapies such as CBT.

Taken as directed and used responsibly, benzodiazepines are very effective in managing acute anxiety and attacks.

They are favored due to their success rate and lower side effect tendency. However, they can carry a dependency risk. It is for this reason that they need to used just as directed.

As Hibee also mentioned...seeking recovery through other treatment options such as therapy and/or self-help shouls also be a goal.:)

I am sure that you will do fine, and be able to use this as a step towards your recovery, and feeling your best.

I was given klonopin for anxiety back in August. I'm currently slowly tapering off of it with my doctors assitance. I personally felt it was amazing for my anxiety. It worked wonders and the side effects were minimal and tolerable. For me, it was just a bit of sleepiness mostly. I did feel irritable a bit at first but I'll take irritable over anxious anyday! Plus, those side effects faded for me after a month or so. Good luck. I hope you find them helpful. Having them was huge for me when they were perscribed. I really needed them and they really helped.
