Nobody likes the stomach flu...but yes, for a lot of us, it goes beyond aversion to a phobic state of dread.
I too had a really bad bout of the virus once...I was so weak, I literally had to crawl into our house (it hit while we were away for the weekend!) and collapsed on the floor in our front entry! It was brutal.
However, I realize that out of the many times that I have had it...that was a particulary rough one...and not likely to happen again.
In fact the last time I got it...my daughter came down with it first. I lived in absolute fear and dread for the next couple of days...literally having panic attack after panic attack.
I did end up coming down with it...and, as you have probably guessed...
...yep, the illness was nothing compared to what I put myself through with the worry!
The anticipatory anxiety was much worse than anything else.
...so I have resolved to take a 'what happens, happens' attitude about it now.
Of course I am careful and take precautions to stay well...but beyond that, it is out of my control, and I feel so much better in general about this time of year!.:)
