Stabbing pain in my ribs... anyone know what it is?

Had it for a couple of days now... It's not constant, it comes and goes every now and again but it's very ununcomfortable.

The pain is literally on my left side in my ribs, about where a bra would be, lasts for a few seconds each time, kind of like a throbbing pain... Not sure if its anything to worry about or if anyones experienced anything similar and know what it is??

Actually yes, I've got some kind of flu and have been coughing quite a bit the last day or two but I'm pretty sure the pains came first so never linked the two!

I have had this myself but a number of years ago... I had a hard time believing the doctor when it said it was actually 'gas pains'... because I thought the pain was too high up for that!
But it turned out he was right... I am not sure if I did anything in particular to change it... but eventually the pains just disappeared. So hopefully, this is what is causing your problem, too.
Maybe you could try Gas-x or some store brand of simethicone to see if this might solve the problem. Good luck!

Mam, same here and i dont were a bra, when gas gets up in the thorax area it hurts, another thing stabbing
pain is not heart related, or sharp pain either, Peace
