It's around 9 degrees in Virginia today. While already dreading work, I get in my car and something doesn't feel right with it after driving a bit. Appears it's a flat. I didn't give the car any time to warm up. Let's hope it's just a tire issue.

Ugh, John! Bummer! I didn't realize it got that cold in Virginia! It's pretty cold here in Chicago too. Awful really. Were you able to get to work ok? I don't know how to change a tire to save my life.

I was maybe a mile up the road and turned around. Luckily, I made it home. I'm with you and know less than nothing about cars. I'm on hold with AAA. The doors were frozen shut on my backup vehicle.

I hate when days start with stuff like that. I'm glad you got home ok. It's too cold to be stuck on the side of the road somewhere! Is your boss an understanding person?

She is. Her boss kind of sucks, though. My mom could get that male friend of hers to take me to work, but I just don't want that. It's too cold to be out if you don't have to be, it's too much driving for him, and it would make me uncomfortable.

Oh my gosh, at the company I used to work for, we literally had the guy with the red stapler. And he had a red stapler! I kid you not. It was bizarre.

Yep. I come to Chicago to dance a few times a year. Bring your friends! LOL

So you have seen it. That's my life. I remember thinking it was a big deal when I got the job, but it's really not. That discovery has been disheartening.

Yeah, my old office was exactly like that! Companies always try to sell you on how important your role is to the company's bottom line and then you get in there and get into a job that isn't quite as thrilling as it was made out to be. (I was a recruiter for a company and made jobs sound fancy for a living). :(

Realistically, a first grade teacher. In a fantasy world, I'd be Billy Madison.

Billy Madison. Ha! I like the first grade teacher thing! I was going to teach elementary school. That's what my degree is in at least, but somehow I ended up in human resources. Oh well.

Billy Madison- one of my all time fav movies. Along with Office Space. You should totally be a teacher though. It's always good for kids to have someone there that really wants to be. I bet you'd be great at it!
Park- Labor and delivery nurse, huh? That would be a pretty intense job. I bet you'd be great at it. Maybe someday??

MG - I was obsessed with my labor and delivery nurse. I wouldn't let anyone else speak to me but her. She helped me like I couldn't have imagined and I thought wow, what an awesome job. Unfortunately it's doubtful that it'll ever happen! I do wish I had known my options more when I was younger. There are so many things to be that we didn't even realize!

John, I think it would be super cool for you to teach. I think kids would love you. Why do you think first grade? I picture you dealing with smarty pants junior high kids. You seem to have a dry/witty sense of humor and I think a bunch of 8th graders would love it. :)
