Has anyone else had the feeling like your body is there but your mind isn't? Like you're just going through the motions of the day but you're not feeling like you in just in a fog? It's a very scary feeling. How do you handle it?

Yep, I get this quite a lot. I used to stress about it a lot more, but now I realise that it's a symptom of my anxiety/depression or my fibromyalgia (often known as fibro fog). It used to freak me out too, but because I've learned it's a symptom of one of these things, unpleasant though it is, I just ride it out knowing that it will get better again when the rest of my body/mind starts to recover.\

Hi yes i got it from too much stress and shocks i never dealt with its called depersonalisation and only happened recently its your mind going to neutral to protect you,its also part of anxiety,i freaked out until i was told lots of people get it

Mindfullness brings you back and you have to learn to relax and rest up for awhile,was told by a pdoc in a and e very scary,but im just bk from it now took me 2 weeks,but my meds where changed,hope this helps

I've been feeling this EXACT "going thru the motion" feeling for 4days already.... Its exactly how u described it, your body's there but your mind is not. Somewhat of a zombie!!! Seems like its never going to end huh?? Well . . . . Soon it will.
Trying to keep busy seems to help for me. Simple things like: reading the post here on HW, googling positive quotes, doing laundry, having random conversations with my four year old lol just little things 👉to try to keep your mind off the emptiness feeling....
