My sweet panda, I've been on effexor for 13 weeks now and still dealing with this anxiety. Did it take awhile to feel the benefits for you?
I've just increased my dose to 225mg and really hoping for so e results!

Hi Lisa, with every dose increase there is bound to be an increase in anxiety I'm sure it will subside. Remember you have had some good weeks, if this is the last increase for you , I'm sure you will see some improvement, more and more as time goes on. Hang in there , I'm 6 weeks on 300mg and had some anxiety yesterday morning and the day before but today feel good. You will get there I promise x

remember Lisa, that 13 weeks is from when you started, it really does take time to tirate in your system, take a benzo as needed in the short term. I really think this is the last increase for you. Its your voice of doubt (anxiety) that is questioning it but when you get some good days you will see that that is all it was. do some deep breathing every hour or hold your breath for as long as you can and slowly release a few times this will get your heart rate down and reduce the adrenalin in your body. I know you will be ok. Take care and thinking of you .

Thank you Tess. I really appreciate your help. It's just such a roller coaster ride! I do have klonopin but I am stubborn in not using them! I just want this to work and I need to stop doubting this med.
I think about this all day long! It's quite ridiculous really.
How does your anxiety manifest?
I feel very heavy hearted and my chest is tight and my stomach churns.
It's such a nasty feeling! I know it takes time but it's hard to stay positive when you're anxious.
Patience is what I need!!!

Yes patience is all you need, I know I'm resistant to take benzo too but now and again is ok and I'm sure it will make a difference and give your body and brain the break it needs, I know I think about it all the time too when I'm anxious , question everything, fearing the symptoms, but it will get better, the symptoms can't hurt you at all even though they are uncomfortable. My doc told me I stab used at 8-10 weeks on this dose 5 years ago so I will reassess where I'm at then week 7 next Tuesday . Once it's in your system completely it will help for sure and you will b glad you waited it out.im at work today and feel good yesterday and day before average slowly but surely we will be ourselves again. Try reading or watching your favorite comedy.

Hi Lisa, How are you going darl?

Been thinking of you today. I am on week 8 of 300mg and doing pretty well, no anxiety for the last 2 and half weeks. Pre menstrual now ok so far, due in 5 days so we will see. but much better more confident, more like my old self. Doubt pops up now and gain but just laugh at it.

Hey there! So glad to hear from you!!! I'm happy to hear that you're doing well!
I'm so so. Still have low moods and some anxiety, but I manage.
I upped my dose to 225mg about 2 weeks ago, so we'll see how it goes.
Hoping things will get better. Just don't have alot of the motivation I once had, but I'm sure it will return in time.
I did find out that my hormones were out of whack, which surely has something to do with all this?!
I seriously can't wait to look back at this past year and a half and see it as a learning experience! !

How are you? just checking in again you must be at nearly 4 weeks now on 225mg. Im doing really well now still consistent and feeling much more like myself - 10weeks tomorrow at 300mg.

Hi!!! So glad to hear from you!! Yes, I'm at the 4 week mark. I have had days where I feel awesome, and days like today , where it comes on gradually and increases. I am premenstrual, so maybe that's why? I'd love to connect on Facebook.
How can we go about it through the forum???
