Hey Irishpride,
As Larry pointed out, everyone is different, but I can assure you that no emotion is permanent. Recover is a very gradual process. You will not wake up one day and suddenly all will be well. You
will be well some day, but it will be more like one day you wake up and realize you have been well for a while and didn't even realize it.
When we are in the darkest part of our suffering with anxiety/depression, it feels like every moment is agonizing, let alone another day of feeling this way. That is because we tend to really fixate of the horrific symptoms we experience. So much that we totally over look those moments in which we feel well. They may be fleeting, and there may be more bad moments than good right now, but it is super important (and okay) to notice when you are feeling well. As we tally those moments, we can watch them grow and take comfort in our growth as we move towards recovery.
HealingWell has some amazing resources to help cultivate and grow those moments as well. Here are my top three that might help you find some peace;
