Has anyone had any success with Celexa? This is my 3nd day. Still not sleeping and have klonopin.

Hi melymel,
I've no personal experience to share, but am wishing you well in your start up!
The first couple of weeks can be challenging, but if you can hange in there, you should really start seeing improvement within a month or so.
I am glad to see you have a benzo to help you through any rough spots you encounter.
I would also recommend daily use of coping skills to keep your anxiety levels as low as possible.
Keep us posted as to your progress, and we will keep you in support!

Hey there, I was on celexa for many years and it was a miracle med for me. I had barely any side effects and it worked very well. Please be patient with it, as it can take some weeks to see improvement, but when you do, it's great.
Good luck and again, be patient! !

Hi
Yes I had good success with Celexa it was the first antidepressant I tried years ago and it worked well for my anxiety but it can take up to 6-8 weeks to feel the full benefits so stick with it if you can.
Unfortunately it is the norm to feel a little bit worse before you get better when starting a new medication and you are prone to side effects but these should settle after a couple of weeks and if they don't go back and see your doctor.

Hi
I would suggest you go and speak with your doctor about
how you are feeling at the moment and raise that you suspect you may have OCD and see what they say. A lot can be done to help OCD I have that diagnosis myself but you first step is to find out if you do have OCD then look into treatment options.

MM,
Are you referring to saved as in the faith/salvation sense?
Religious themes and preoccupation with these types of concerns are not uncommon with OCD.
So I echo Hibee's advice about
looking into getting help for this, as much can be done for help and relief...
...and also talking with your clergy, priest/pastor about
your worries, as they should be able to help you find some peace with these issues.:)
With support,
S.C.

Mel,
I've been on Celexa for about
four months now and the first week is the hardest! Keep at it... I didn't level out with my issues for about
three months. I feel better now than I have in a long time.
My side effects were: increased anxiety, HORRIBLE insomnia, body aches, migraines.
Those went away in a week (migraines occurred a little longer). I ended up doubling my dose from 10 to 20 mg after about
one month because it wasn't strong enough to stop my panic attacks.
The side effects will go away, but you have to give it a couple months to know how you're going to feel. Fortunately SSRIs are some of the quickest acting antidepressants so your panic attacks will likely start to decrease within two to four weeks of use :) you got this!
