freaking out over hives ....

Hello everyone . I finally got my answer to my head sensations neck problems bad vertabrae . But again im still here panicking over hives and weird head sensation . Fearing that the hives are a sign of something sinister . I.e brain tumor/cancer. I have been off celexa for 2-3 weeks. Dr thought it was caused by celexa the 1st time but they r back nowhere near as bad . I ate coconut both times but I have always loved coconut and ate it . Could the celexa still be causing this ? I've never heard of suddenly becoming allergic to something .... help advice please and thank you.

I had an allergic reaction to bactrim on the very last day I was taking it. And my sister very recently developed some food allergies that have caused hives at the age of 37. Stuff she's waten all her life. So, it can happen. I'm pretty sure the celexa is out of your system now, so perhaps keeping a food log may help. Hope you're feeling better soon. I know about catastrophising and assuming the worse and it's an awful thought to shake. Hugs!

Oh, you can certainly become suddenly allergic to any food at any time in your life!

Hives are also brought on by stress...so it is sure to be either the coconut or the recent stress you have been under.

Hives are NOT a symptom of the things that you fear the most...but rather your body telling you that it is not happy with a certain food (or topical lotion/soap/detergent, ect.) or the stress.

If you continue to struggle with the urticaria (hives) you may want to consider seeing an allergist for testing and treatment.
