Hi Jessa and welcome!
I am sorry to hear you are going through all of this currently.
Panic attacks are miserable.
I am glad that you have been, and are in the process of further getting checked out by your medical care professional. It is always good to rule out physical causes of the dramatic symptoms of anxiety!
Until you get all of your definitive results back...it is safe to assume that what you are dealing with is A/P (anxiety and panic) and that starting some coping skills can help!
Here is the link to our Resources with all kinds of great material for managing anxiety and panic attacks. Check it out and get started on some of the suggested exercises.

...the benzodiazepine (Xanax) could have caused your drop in heart rate. You are on a low dosage, but may be very sensitive to its effects. I would see how your doctor would want to try an alternative such as an SSRI...
Zoloft is an A/D med that treats both depression and anxiety. It needs to be taken daily...and can cause increased symptoms upon start up. These should fade out within a few weeks.
If you would rather not try this...there are other alternatives that you and your doctor can discuss such as:
Vistatril, an antihistamine taken for panic.
Remeron, a tetracylic A/D
Wellbutrin, an aminokeytone A/D
Another consideration that I recommend for everyone is therapy. The benfits are invaluable, and it will teach you the skills needed to manage the anxiety and symptoms. If this is an option that is
open to you, by all means take advantage of it.
Keep talking with us if you find it helpful. We understand, care and support is key!

p.s. coincidentally...I had my very first panic attack on an Easter Sunday...weird!
