More night issues

Hi everyone..Happy Monday!
So the whole waking with a pounding heart seems to be a bit better (I think) I have the beta blocker but only take it if I wake in the night with it pounding-which isn't every night. What's funny is even when I do take it in the middle of the night when its pounding, I still wake up a little while later with it still going probably 80-85 bmp..until I get up and then it goes to 60-65bmp. I just dont get why the pounding heart would go away once I get up?
But anyways, last night I didn't take the beta blocker and slept pretty good, no pounding heart. But when I did wake during the night it felt like I was breathing fast. My heart wasn't pounding but I had the sensation I was breathing too fast and was trying to breathe slower, which in turn made me breathe faster cuz I felt like I needed more air. I wonder if this has something to do with my thyroid issue or just typical anxiety? So annoyed with this nighttime stuff!

Not sure if I've asked you this, but do you do any cardio exercise? This has helped me a lot with the pounding/racing heart. I'm also taking a beta blocker every night now (only half a dose) and I do notice my heart is slower but I still have a pounding sensation. Everyone is unique, but my cardiologist has basically told me this is my anxiety and that exercise will help burn some of that built up adrenaline. We as anxious folks are also just hyper aware of our bodies and what we consider pounding, a doctor may not.

Here's an odd example. I went for acupuncture the other day and she said I have a weak pulse. This scared and confused me. Apparently this means nothing scary in the acupuncture world, but I told her that seemed bizarre because I felt like when I check my pulse that it's always pounding and she said that's likely my anxiety.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Hope you're hanging in there today on Monday, one of our favorite days of the week! 😝

SC..are you thinking sleep apnea? I've never had a sleep study because this all just kind of popped up out of nowhere the last few weeks. I'm 5'6" and about 160 lbs (probably could stand to lose a few, but def not chubby or anything) I don't snore, don't wake up gasping for air..it's just the nighttime heart pounding that's been waking me up (I say pounding but when I actually check my pulse it's about 85 bpm) so it's not that it's going crazy fast..it's just fast for the middle of the night and wakes me up. And last night I kind of just woke up..thought quick "am I up because my heart's pounding?" felt it and it wasn't...and then layed there and noticed it felt like I was breathing kind of fast. I am going to talk to my doctor when I see him..but he basically dismisses everything I say as anxiety, because he knows i'm always so anxious and am always thinking something is wrong with me. I don't know a whole lot about sleep apnea..but I really thought the main symptoms were snoring/gasping for air upon waking?

Park, I really haven't done a whole lot of cardio..but I will say that the last time I had a busy day and walked around a lot and got a good amount of exercise, I had about the worst nights sleep with the pounding heart..was up every half hour. I just don't get it. BTW..what did she mean by a weak pulse?

Larry..i just hate the thought of taking it when my heart is ok and I don't need it. Actually my heart has been fairly normal all day long and acting up at night. Can't win!

It actually didn't have anything to do with my heart it just had to do with there being a lot of "heat" in my body, which equates to stress. Haha.
