Falling feeling awake

Lately I have been getting this "going to fall" feeling. I will be reading or watching tv and it comes over me and I either grab something, move suddenly, call out etc. I am afraid something is wrong. Has anyone experienced this? I am awake when it happens and not necessarily conscience you stressed.

Hi Dawn- I get this too! Sometimes also with dizziness and sometimes not. I get it a lot when walking in places like walmart or at the mall, or on stairs, but also have had it many times while sitting at my desk or watching tv - which in some ways is scarier because there seems no reason for it. A lot of times right after this happensy heart will pound, as if I really did fall or caught myself from falling.

I wish I could be more help... All I know is that I've had my heart checked, ears checked, brain mri and have never found a physical cause. It feels so weird but I've begun to think it really could be caused by anxiety.

Girls i dont know what causes this but when my anxiety was real bad i did have it, i think its a vision/motion thing, it always made me feel like i was falling even though i didnt move at all, Peace
