Searching1,
I got false negatives on my initial lyme tests (western blot, elisa). Then I found a lyme literate naturopath who had me take a few drops of teasel root tincture under the tongue for 30 days, then we re-tested, and that's when the blood work showed positive for lyme and co-infections.
Apparently, many docs don't understand that because lyme bacteria is corkscrew shaped, it doesn't travel very efficiently in the blood stream. Which means, it very quickly leaves the blood stream and burrows into the tissues. Teasel root is supposed to draw the lyme & company back into the blood stream where it can be picked up on blood tests. My naturopath said its even a good idea to take teasel root tincture for 30 days prior to doing a DNA type test through Igenex because it will help it show up on the results.
If you ever consider testing for it again, I would encourage you to do the teasel root tincture for 30 days prior to testing... and the same for anyone thinking about initial testing.
I understand about having exhausted funds on all the tests you've had done. I'm in the same boat. I've probably spent $30k+ on doctors and supplements over the past five years on this crap. All out of pocket. My savings and retirement money from the 15 year career that I had to resign from is gone. I moved back into my parents spare room last year (I'm 44 years old) and am trying to get disability approval but, even that is looking bleak. Bankruptcy will be next, if disability is denied by a judge at a hearing that I've now requested via an attorney.
I can empathize. :(
