Epsom Salt is basically magnesium sulfate which is good for you and safe to use in baths. Epsom salts pull toxins from your body, allowing the magnesium in through the skin and even the blood stream and will help soothe achy muscles, reduce inflammation, increases blood flow amongst many other benefits.
If you had put too much into your bath all that would happen is make you sleepy because magnesium is good for that. I have not heard of anyone having a anxiety from it.
The only thing I can think of is if the water temperate for the bath was too hot and your body reacted to that. I know if I have a bath and it's really hot, it will increase my heart rate and if I am not ready for that, then I tend to panic a bit.
Most people don't know this, but Epsom Salt are best used actually at a lukewarm temperature. I realize that is harder to sit in a bath like that, but massage therapist, naturalists have shared that info with me amongst articles I have read online.
Your body needs magnesium -- simple and most people are quite magnesium deficient. No need to hurry the flushing from your body. Just allow it to be naturally.
