It sounds like there is a bit of an imbalance in hormones. That can definitely cause anxiety. It's unlikely the anxiety is changing the length or flow of your period.
How old are you? Sometimes during perimenopause this can happen. Sometimes your body just has more to get rid of. It can also happen during menopause.
There are so many variables here. It might be best if you contact your gyno, and see what he/she has to say about it.
I'm dealing with a lot of issues like this due to endometriosis. I'll be 48 next Friday, but have been dealing with the endometriosis for about 5 years now. I'm waiting to hear from my doc on when my hysterectomy is scheduled.
It certainly does make anxiety worse when you have rampant hormones. I've been put on a progesterone only (no estrogen) birth control pill to help with the clotting until the hysterectomy.
