Can't stop googling

I know just how you feel because I do the same. I wish I could give you more applicable or practical advice, but I know how challenging it is to not Google. Although it is hard to be objective, please try and remember if the physician was really concerned about your throat, he most likely would have provided you with an immediate referral, anywhere!

You're describing an compulsive reaction (googling) to and obsession (your health). If you feel the urge to google, perhaps google "how to manage compulsions". You could use this anxiety as a growth opportunity and a reminder that you need to focus on changing your behavior. You know that your behavior is making things worse, you have the power to change it.

Same here, I did googling millions of times and only a couple of times felt better (I tend to search for incidence statistics to convince myself how unlikely my fear to happen). We can never know if the information on that website is trusted or correct.

Many websites have very vague symptom lists which are shared by many conditions. And when you mention these symptoms to your dr, they look at your face like "What??" because they know what they are doing and they think about a disease with many different symptoms and consider your age, gender, habits etc. So many times Drs find your worries very unlikely to happen.

Googling is doom for a person with health anxiety. It's also like an addiction. Very hard not to do it...
