Anybody taking more than 20mg of Lexapro?

I was prescribed 20mg of Lexapro and it worked wonders for a while, then like you I had all my symptoms come back and upped my dose to 30mg which did seem to work even better for me, so don't be scared of upping your dose, everyone is different and respond differently to different doses.

I will say though, I have weened myself back down to 20mg now but it took months to back off the 20mg so it is an important decision to up your dosage. If you have any other questions feel free to ask as it sounds like we have gone through excatly the same stuff.

Thanks. I was able to email my physician who prescribed it for me initially. She says try 30mg for 2 weeks. I think I will. I was thinking of 25 when I wrote this. Going for a med eval with the Psychiatrist in August so I'm thinking he'll be much more experienced with these types of drugs than my general physician.

Aus - do you remember much in the way of startup effects when you made the jump from 20 to 30?
How long were you on 30 before you started to ween back?

I've been working my way up since March. Started at 5 then 7.5, 10 now 20.
I find it weird that I can feel so good in the evening after being so anxious in the morning.
I guess it just takes me that long to become rational lol.

I'm a little wired on 30 Hibee. 2nd day and it feels a bit like an adrenaline rush. I'm hoping that it's just from the increase and that it will calm down in a few days. Seems like the 2nd and 3rd days are always the hardest for me after an increase.

My only side-effects were an upset tummy, which lasted a week or so. You need to give it at chance, so if your side effects aren't too bad, i say stick with it mate.

I was on 30mg for about 4 months before I reduced. I initially went from 30 to 20 straight up but it was too much of a drop so I weened over about 2 months and had no dramas dropping back down.
