I'm having a hard day. I am siting here trying to get my bp to come back down. It was up to 186/115. I had it down quite a bit but I had to get up and it shot back up. It won't go down now.
Anyway I have a cat. He came here nearly dead and I took him to the vet numerous times, gave him antibiotics, tried many foods to find something he would eat, had him shaved because he was matted up. Anyway I have tried to do what I could for him. I have had him in the house in a crate with a cat box because it was so cold outside. He and my dogs don't get along and he's not exactly one to just use the catbox to potty in so he cannot run loose in here. Well I put him out yesterday because it warmed up and the smell of the catboxin the house is horrible.
So he was stinking and I brought him in to give him a bath, he had poo stuck to the base of his tail, he is wheezing. I am so stressed out by this cat. I honestly have worried about
him for months and I can't do it any more. I bathed him. and for some reason my bp shot up and my heart rate and I am afraid. He's very thin and has been thin since he came here. He has never put any weight on. The vet said he's old. I only feed him canned food. I am afraid I'll have to take him and have him put down and I am so sad over this. Can't get my bp down and I am trying hard not to have to take a clonidine.

Hi there,
Take your med if you need to. srsly Take it.
I understand about
caring so much about
a pet or an animal. It's so hard and can cause great stress. I hate to suggest thing but if the cat is very ill, think about
putting it to sleep. I am sorry for suggesting it, think about
it ok? If you feel the cat can get well, then don't put it down.
I am struggling today too, so you are not alone. I feel so alone. I have been crying off and on all afternoon.
I hope this post has made you feel not quite so alone.

Thank you for posting. I don''t know what is best for the cat. I just don't know and I don't want to have to make the decision. I think maybe it's time but I can't. I wish my husband was here for me just once in a while. If he has a rough Dr. appt I am there, I took him when he had to take meds to get his toe nail taken care of, if he has a Dentist appt and has to take meds for that I am there, if he needs anything done I am there, if a pet dies I am there.
I'm sorry you are having a bad day too. Really this whole year needs to just be done already. You can post here if you need someone, people are usually here when they can be and are so sweet. Why do you feel alone?

Sending you both love, hugs...encouragement.
T2R
The last time my hubs was away on business, we lost one of our cats. When I found her, I felt the old stirrings of panic...and really had to use my tools to calm down. I had to tell my daughters, call my husband...then compartmentalize it all because I had to go to work!
I am so sorry your kitty isn't doing well....it IS stressful when our pets are unwell.
If you can get him to the vet, they can do an assessment for you and let you know if it's time or not.

Thank you Sc,
I took a clonidine just a few minutes ago. OMG then I got a phone call from someone who gripes about
just about
everything and I couldn't take it tonight. Dog won't stop whining now and I just need to relax. I wish I could run away, really just get in the car and go away. Praying this clonidine works ok today and soon please.

OK so here is the problem, every time I stand up I panic too and it shoots my bp up. This is crazy. It was 194/114 last time I got up. This is scaring me, I can't afford another ER bill I just can't. I am still shaky in my legs and stuff from when I was bathing the cat so that is making me nervous too when I walk, my legs feel weird just from the stress of kneeling but my crazy mind interprets that as something wrong.

I have had that weak in the legs feeling too...and it IS disturbing. :/
I hope you were able to rest and see those numbers drop later on this evening.
Take a break from checking it like your doctor suggested and see how you are doing in the morning.

I got to sleep and I woke up with a panic attack in an hour. This is crazy. BP and pulse shot up and had to try to get calmed down. I didn't think that could happen while on clonidine. Learned a not so fun lesson today. Anyway going to try to get back to sleep. This is really disturbing that my anxiety is this bad. Maybe it is worse than I thought. Ok back to try to sleep tonight, Night I hope.

Wow, I am so tired. We have a litter of puppies on the house. They are in my room and I am sleeping on the crappy couch. So last night about
3 am momma dog decided it would be fun to just stand up and let the puppies yelp. For some reason that kicked up my anxiety enough that I couldn't get back to sleep again. I want to run away, I'm getting scary depressed.

Oh Time...
You seem to be struggling again.. things looked positive a couple of days ago.... Can you not pups in another room with their mum then you wont be disturbed?
You need your sleep or you will be like a zombie.. an anxious zombie because if your not resting, your body cant repair itself which is vital from sleep.
I hope tonight is less anxious for you... I must admit if i had a litter of pups in my bedroom yapping in the night ... my blood pressure would be high too....๐.
Look after yourself sweetie and relax ๐

T2R,
Try to remember that when you are not focused on it...that's when it is likely the lowest.
Put it out of your mind the best you can and enjoy being out with your family.
Hope tonight is better for you.

I'm home. My blood pressure is up too high. It wasn't great but it was ok most of the day. Now it is back at 157/101. Not good. I don't normally have rebound from the clonidine so maybe stress did it I don't know or maybe the clonidine is rebounding. I don't especially feel stressed at all now except for the bp but earlier when we were at walmart and then eating I was having a ton of anxiety. I thought to try a xanax but... If my bp doesn't come down I would have to take a clonidine and I don't know if the two of them would knock me out. I have been loopy and tired half the day as it is, I'm not now so maybe thats why my bp is up. Anyway the drug checker online says this "CloNIDine and ALPRAZolam may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption. Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about
all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor" I wasn't sure if I am allowed to put links in here.

My anxiety has been bad, so much stress in my life.
My mother passed in March, both my parents are gone now. Tomorrow is the last Christmas in the family house, it will be sold next year. We moved into the house when I was 7 months old and I am 49 now. When my dad passed in 06, my mom refused to move out. The house meant so much to her.
I burnt my kitchen down in Sept. It was my fault. I left a pan on the stove and left the house, only to come home to a bad fire. It's not been a good year.
I started doing guided meditation yesterday and I bought a yoga mat recently. I'm also in a weight loss program run by the local hospital.
I'm really trying. I feel better today, not so down. Thank you all for being so so kind.
Like SC suggested, try to focus on other things. It will help your BP improve.

,
It could be the fatigue. ..I bet if you get a good night's sleep...and continue the breathing exercises that helped to lower it previously...that tomorrow will bring about
big improvement!

,
Bless you dear...it HAS been a challenging time for you! I am so sorry to hear of your loss...and of course this holiday will be full of bittersweet memories. I wish you much healing and peace, even as you still mourn, naturally.
I know how you feel regarding your family home...my folks will be moving to a retirement community soon (my mom has MCI/pre Alzhiemer's)...so this is almost surely my last holiday in the house I was born in too!
(((Hugs)))...
...and encouragement to you both!

Giant ((HUGS)) to you. I am so very sorry to hear so much has and is going on in your life. I'm glad you are feeling a little better. Keep posting with us and let us know how things are going. I used to do guided meditation and I really enjoyed it. It took me a while to relax while doing it and then it got easier and easier. If I can ever find my CD I will start it back up again. I really would like to use the old one again since I already have experience with it, maybe it will be easier to start back up there.

SC, I think my anxiety earlier got it up again but I don't know much any more. Thanks so much for the support. Sometimes I just don't know where to go.

i am preparing myself mentally today ... as some anx has crept up on me after the op..... So early morning a longer one than i normally listen to , im going to squeeze one in at lunch time then my usual tonight.

How is everything going for you post op? It's a lot to think about
and some things are different. I remember I was a little freaked out by how weird my bellybutton looked after, of all the silly things to think about
lol.

Time, I was just getting ready to suggest downloading a guiding meditation app on your cell phone, if you have one.
There are lots of good ones.
Just remember, you are not alone.
