Zoloft and Weird Scary dreams

Well am on my 4th week of zoloft and for the past two weeks I have noticed that I have been having these weird dreams about when I was a child and also ex boyfriends that I dated like 10 years ago lol and this annoys me then I want to call and check on him. Is this a normal reaction to zoloft? On a positive note my anxiety seems to have lessen with zoloft and therapy. Thanks in advance for your advice and Together we shall overcome the fight of mental battles 👊

Vivid dreams are a fairly common s/e for some while on an SSRI. Hopefully this is something that will phase out with time...

I have not had this experience personally, so hopefully you will hear from others soon who have...and how long it lasted for them.

I am really glad to hear that you are making progress in your recovery...good work! This is great news...and may it continue!! ;)

Hi

Most antidepressants can cause vivid dreams and in my experience it is a side effect which lingers but there are some which are worse than others so if it becomes a problem you need to raise it with your doctor.

When I took Zoloft before I was having nightmares, which included constant repeat dreams of ex boyfriends and cheating.

I'm on Zoloft again, however I'm not experiencing it this time around. It may be that Zoloft was not the cause of the dreams and it could have been something else I was taking. Otherwise, I'm just too darn tired that I don't remember my dreams!

Has anyone ever had the experience of being on zoloft and not sleeping enough hours and feel irritable the following day? I woke up early this morning and all day I have been feeling angry and irritable.

Have you tried adjusting your dosage time? IOW...if you are taking your pill in the evening, switching to the a.m. may help.

I am still unsure about my success with Sertraline. I have been on it now for two weeks. I only take 1 or 2 25 mg pills per day. My dreams had not been weird until last night. I dreamed my tongue was coming apart, bit by bit. I also dreamed that I flew up into heaven with angels and we were in a television show. I just wanted to share these since they were very strange to me. I just want an anxiety pill that gives me a subtle chill, not extra things to worry me! Oh, to just have the subtle chill of a .5 mg Xanax pill! It was no nonsense and it did the trick!

I am really sorry to hear about your disturbing dreams and start up frustration. sad It is really disappointing to experience this when you just want and need to feel better and find relief from the anxiety.

Hopefully with a little more time, you will find the therapeutic effects of your Rx gaining the lead, as the unwanted s/e's phase out.
