Medication or no medication

Sorry this is happening to you. Anxiety, nausea and lack of appetite are start up issues with most antidepressants. If they are very bad then you should call your doctor and see what he/she says. It can take between 6 to 12 weeks for the full effects of the medication. This is normal for most meds and will slow down and go away most times in a few weeks as your body gets used to the meds. I am sorry again that this is happening, I hope that this helps you in some way.

I went through this in the beginning. I was on Paxil for "Major Depressive Disorder." I disagreed with that as I was hardly ever depressed. I saw a new Psych after I had to switch from a child psychiatrist to an adult. This psychiatrist agreed that I did not have depression and I was subsequently pulled off of the SSRI.

THIS is when problems started. When I was pulled from the SSRI, I started experiencing anxiety/panic symptoms that I had never experienced before. I was pulled from Zoloft a year and a half ago as well and the same thing happened. I went into a massive freak out - panic attacks every day, for the majority of the day.

There was a positive correlation on three occasions of stopping an SSRI and losing control of the anxiety. My psychiatrist now that I started seeing this year agreed that my body NEEDS an SSRI to manage the anxiety. This may be the case for you as well.

A lot of the symptoms you are describing could be due to starting up the medication again as stated above. I hope you feel better soon and that the symptoms will go away!

On Paxil, I had HORRIBLE weight problems. Zoloft? Has been a charm. No weight problems. In fact, I'm back at a healthy weight, within my BMI and feel very good about myself.

It is always possible that your body could react differently to the medication than mine, but I guess all you can do it is try it and find out!
