I posted for the first time yesterday on my anxiety journey. Today I visited my doctor (general practitioner) and she decided to restart me on low dose zoloft (12.5mg) for my anxiety. I previously had an adverse reaction but chalked it up to my anxiety at the time. I took it this afternoon and about an hour after started feeling very dizzy and I had blurred vision in my right eye. I worked myself into a panic attack but it was surreal, my heart was going a hundred miles an hour (based on my Fitbit) and my blood pressure was sky high but I didn't feel the normal tension and anxiety that usually accompany a panic attack. I finally calmed myself down and emailed my doctor about the dizziness, blurred vision and a nurse called me back and scared the hell out of me. She said that they consulted with pharmacy or someone to that affect and that the symptoms I was having were not normal after one dose of zoloft. After asking me a million questions she consulted with the doctor and they decided I need to stop the zoloft but if my symptoms continue I need to go to the ER because they are very similar to stroke symptoms. Well that has thrown me into full blown panic mode again. I'm still having the blurred vision, dizziness, and headache. Could this all be related to the zoloft? I felt the best I had been in awhile before I took it. Is my anxiety causing these symptoms?? I also had ringing in my ear on the same side as the blurred vision.
I'm so scared and frustrated right now....I'm too afraid to try another anxiety med but feel like there is no way I can do this otherwise. Please help..,,
