I’m hopeful...Got a couple of maybe answers though...Said the pain sounds muscular skeletal, that it is likely either through an injury or through anxiety I’ve cause inflammation in between my ribs and the cartilage. He explained that it is possible either I have an arthritis in between my rib bone and the cartilage, possibly a few of my lower ribs have overlapped over each other, and/or I’ve worked the muscles too much and they are constantly sore because of it.
All of this he believes could be caused by my untreated anxiety, he put me on a anxiety med that I’m supposed to take twice a day. He explained a couple of the physiological responses to anxiety, some I knew some I did not...such as your ribs can actually act as auxiliary lungs in threatening situations, that your ribs constrict to protect your vitals (what could be causing the pain is that constant strain). He also explained the adrenaline response, which accounts for why your heart rate is elevated and you can feel palpitations whenever you’re anxious. So I’m hoping it’s more of an anxiety cause rather than something more serious.
Day 1 on buspar seems ok, feel a little funny after taking it. Like that butterfly feeling you get whenever you really like someone. I’ve noticed a slight change in my mood but I’ve still got the pain. Hoping it helps, I know it takes awhile to fully lock on to the anxiety.
